The Komodo Archipelago: Five Sites You Cannot Miss
Komodo's currents are the reason you go and the reason you plan carefully. These five sites have given me some of the most memorable dives of my career.
## 1. Batu Bolong
A seamount that drops to 80 m on one side and 40 m on the other. Current hits from both sides depending on the tide phase, pushing up nutrient-rich water that attracts mantas, sharks, and dense schools of fusiliers. Descend on the sheltered face and hold the wall until you reach the corner.
## 2. Castle Rock
Another seamount — the current here can be punishing but the shark density is unmatched. Up to thirty grey reef sharks holding in the blue at mid-water, plus the odd hammerhead above.
